Building my first car. A Mercedes 230.

In the recent years I have seen the value for me in completing this car, beside from just getting it ready for my 18th birthday. To put together a car from parts is for me probably one of my biggest achievements.
At 17 years of age I wanted a cool car as my first car. Unfortunately I didn't have much of money, nor any income. My dad told me he knew about a reasonably priced car that has been dismantled for rust treatment. It was a dark blue Mercedes Benz 230 1973. Only chassis and wheels was left. The interiour was taken out. Carpets, seats, door panel, dashboard. Engine was out. Everything was taken out. The rest of the car was in boxes.
My goal, and dream was to finish the car, get it approved, and get my driving license before my 18th birthday. I got the car ready, and I got my driving license for my 18th birthday. My dream became true.
I learned a lot about what you can achieve if you only have a goal to aim at. And to not give up. Even if you get frustrated and just want abandon it.
Only now can I see the value in accomplishing that task. But it was not just me doing the job. It was my mom, who feed me, brought the HSE, motivated me by saying she was proud. It was my dad with his competence, experience and network. It was my friends who said "cool, cant wait" or "you will never make it". All of that feedback gave me motivation. It was my driving teacher who pulled some strings so that I could get my license on my birthday.
All in all, it was my network, my family, and of course my clear vision and the will to not give it up, that made it happen.
